Origin of the Bullhuahua

The Bullhuahua was born from the cross between French bulldog and Chihuahua specimens. Its name comes from the mix between these two breeds, but it also receives other names like: French Chihuahuas, Chibull, Frencheenie, Mexican Frenchie or French Chihuahua Bulldog mix.

Despite the increasing popularity of the breed, it is not known exactly where this breed originated, as there are no records of the first crosses made.

In addition, this is a hybrid dog breed that has not been recognized as an independent breed, so it is just considered a mixture of two recognized breeds.

Bullhuahua Features

A Bullhuahua is a small dog whose weight varies between 3 and 13.5 kilos for a height of between 15 and 30 cm. Size and weight vary from specimen to specimen depending on the predominant genetic load. The average life expectancy of a Bullhuahua is between 12 and 18 years.

" As for its appearance, the Bullhuahua has a head which, proportionally, is larger than the body, its ears are erect and if they resemble those of the Bulldog, they are called bat-ear. Their eyes are brown in color and rather prominent. The tail may be curved, but only slightly. The muzzle can either be flat like that of the French bulldog or pointed like that of the Chihuahua."

The fur is short, sparse, with smooth hairs and it can be of several colors.

It will absolutely be necessary to set limits for your puppy, because despite his innocent and adorable look, if he is not well guided, he can be rather grumpy and bossy.

Bullhuahua Character

The Bullhuahua has a strong character, something normal if we take into account the two dogs from which he comes who are well known for their tough character. They are stubborn and stubborn which is why he can easily drive you crazy.

They are friendly and cuddly, but extremely wary of strangers they will bark as soon as they consider they have entered their territory. They are dependent and they need constant affection and attention, otherwise they become bitter and angry.

Bullhuahuas are loyal, defending their family against possible dangers. They love to play and continual attention. They have great intelligence, are always alert and surprise everyone with their ingenuity.

Taking care of the Bullhuahua

The Bullhuahua has excellent adaptive abilities and it's absolutely impressive how they adapt to different environments and different types of climates. However, if he lives in cold climates, he will need to be helped to maintain his body temperature by dressing him.

The main thing to take into account when caring for a Bullhuahua will be to ensure that he gets enough exercise, because due to his boundless energy, if he does not get enough exercise, he becomes nervous and he can develop many he alth problems. This exercise must be combined with a good diet, adjusted and adapted to its nutritional needs and complemented with good hydration.

His fur does not require much care, because his fur is short and not very dense, unless it is really very dirty, it does not need to be brushed daily.

Bullhuahua Education

As we told you, the Bullhuahua has a rather powerful character, which means that it can sometimes be rather dominant. This characteristic usually complicates education, causing many guardians to lose patience and give up, resigning themselves to submitting to their pet's commands.

Nevertheless, the fact that a dog is stubborn and always manages to get what it wants, is something that can be changed through good training. A key factor to consider is the age of the dog at which you start training him: the younger, the easier it will be to teach him tricks.Your attitude is also very important and you should be firm, but not harsh, and you should never resort to physical or verbal punishment. One of the most useful techniques with this type of breed are techniques based on positive reinforcement.

Bullhuahua He alth

Despite the fact that both the Chihuahua and the French Bulldog have a good number of congenital diseases that can affect them, the Bullhuahua has not inherited any of them.

In this sense, genetics play in favor of this breed, as they only suffer from a few diseases, including: pulmonary stenosis, which affects the respiratory system, hip dysplasia or possible collapse tracheal, common in the French bulldog.

To make sure your pet is he althy and to keep it that way, it's best to go to the vet regularly. Thus, the corresponding check-ups, deworming and vaccinations can be carried out.

Adopt a Bullhuahua

Bullhuahuas are very special little dogs, which is why if you go to the local SPA, you may not be able to adopt a Bullhuahua that easily.

We therefore recommend that you go to the animal associations near you and let them know that you are looking for a Bullhuahua. In case they don't have one at the moment, they will let you know as soon as they have one.

It is important that before adopting a Bullhuahua, you know what having a dog entails, because you must be sure to make the decision of all that it entails.
