Caring for a Ural rex
This breed does not require more special care than any other cat. However, you must keep its characteristic coat in good condition by brushing it frequently several times a week and, if it accepts it, you can bathe it up to three times a year. All this will allow you to manage to untangle the knots that may appear while eliminating dead hair that would be ingested during grooming, which can lead to trichobezoars or hairballs that sometimes have to be removed by surgery. This is especially important for the long-haired Ural rex, although for the short-haired Ural rex you also need to be careful.
The rest of the basic care you need to take into account to have a cat in your home are ear cleaning, parasite control with deworming and feline infectious diseases with vaccination. You will also need to offer him a complete and quality diet to ensure that he has all the necessary and essential nutrients, you will have to pay special attention to the percentage of protein, at least 40% for his condition as strict carnivores .
